Fukuhsima Inari Shrine is located in the center of Fukushima-shi and has been worshipped as the local deity for a thousand years. The present "shaden" (the main building of the shrine) was built in 1938. The Shrine also has "Ema-den," "Kagura-den," Furumine Shrine, Ashio Shrine and Shotoku Shrine etc. there. Many people visit and pray in the New Year's Day and several festivals. The annual festival is held on the successive three days-Saturday, Sunday and Monday ahead of Sports Day. People thank the year's crop. They also pray for the safety of the family and good business then. In the middle day of the Festival, "kagura" with the object of worship on it parades in the city. Charms such as "horse racing charm," "peach charm" are popular among people.
