Fukushima Inari Shrine, Dondo-Yaki

Stalls are lined in the precincts of the Shrine for selling "Dango-Sashi"(luck-bringers made of rice cake) on Lesser New Year's Day. Those luck-bringers are sold until January 14. There was a pile of the New Year's decorations near the main Shrine. Because of the danger and environmental issues, these decorations haven't been burned for nearly 10 years. Talismans or luck-bringers are burned on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Dango-Sashi (luck-bringers made of rice cake) are sold at stalls. Paper balloons and pictured kites are also sold for people whose ages are "Yakudoshi" (a misfortune year) that year. Those people blow away bad things by blowing up paper balloons or flying kites. "Dango-Sashi" is decorated all year round, and at the end of the year, it's dedicated to the Shrine with "Ofuda" (charms).
